Assorted Swedish Candy Canes
These traditional Swedish candy canes—known as Polkagris—carry a sweet piece of history. First created in the 1830s by Amalia Eriksson in the small town of Gränna, Polkagris became a beloved treat thanks to her entrepreneurial spirit and secret recipe. Travelers passing between Gothenburg and Stockholm would stop in Gränna just to taste her signature red-and-white swirled candy sticks.
Today, Polkagris remains a cherished Swedish classic, still made in the spirit of Amalia’s original craft.
